Heidelberg Materials Shares Jump After Solid Quarterly Print, Confirmed Guidance
By Andrea Figueras
Shares in Heidelberg Materials climbed after the company posted results for the third quarter ahead of expectations and maintained its outlook for the year as a whole.
The German building-materials group booked revenue of 6.41 billion euros, or $7.17 billion, for the quarter through September, 10% higher compared with the same period last year. The result exceeded analysts' expectations of 6.19 billion euros, according to a company-compiled consensus.
The result from current operations before depreciation and amortization--its preferred metric--reached 1.62 billion euros, up 8% on year and also ahead of analysts' expectations of 1.57 billion euros.
RBC Capital Markets analyst Anthony Codling said that the quarterly results were strong, driven by the performance in Europe.
The stock was up 7.1% at 167.70 euros in European morning trading.
"In view of the positive development over the past two quarters, we confirm our positive outlook for the full year 2026," the company said Wednesday.
Heidelberg Materials continues to see the result from current operations between 3.40 billion and 3.65 billion euros this year.
The third-quarter beat and the reiteration of the full-year guidance should be taken well, analysts at J.P. Morgan said. The expansion of the cost-savings plan seems another positive, the analysts added.
The group aims to exceed its 500 million euros of targeted savings by the end of the year and will now seek additional savings of 300 million euros through the end of 2028. The plan, which was launched in November 2024, is intended to help mitigate inflation and improve margins.
