Nurix Therapeutics Shares Plunge on Sanofi's Termination of Drug Development Program

By Elias Schisgall

Shares of Nurix Therapeutics plunged after the company said Sanofi was terminating a drug development program under the two companies' collaboration agreement.

Shares fell 34% to $17.07 in after-hours trading on Tuesday. The stock closed up 0.5% at $25.82, up 36% this year.

Sanofi notified Nurix that it was discontinuing a phase 1 trial for SAR448272 and terminating the SAR448272 research program, Nurix said Tuesday. The decision means Nurix does not expect to receive any future development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments or royalties from the program.

"While today's news is disappointing, Nurix remains in a strong position, with a substantial cash runway, three clinical-stage programs across our wholly owned and partnered portfolio, and an exciting preclinical pipeline," Chief Executive Officer Arthur Sands said.

Nurix said it remains eligible for future milestone payments and royalties associated with other licensed programs developed under the agreement with Sanofi.
