TotalEnergies Expands Exploration Portfolio in U.S. With Chevron
By Andrea Figueras
TotalEnergies said it acquired working interest in several exploration licenses operated by Chevron in the U.S.
The French energy major said Wednesday that it got a 25% working interest in 26 Chevron-operated exploration leases offshore U.S.
Under the agreement, Chevron will acquire from TotalEnergies a 75% operated interest in two exploration leases.
The companies didn't disclose financial details of the deal.
The deal builds on TotalEnergies' entry into 40 Chevron-operated exploration blocks last year.
Since 2022, TotalEnergies has invested nearly $12 billion in the U.S. to accelerate development in oil, liquefied natural gas and electricity.
