Heineken Backs 2026 Views After Asia Sales, Premium Labels Boost Revenue
By Joshua Kirby
Heineken said sales of premium labels and lower-alcohol products, as well as strong growth in Asia, boosted its top line over the most recent quarter.
The Dutch brewer said total volumes rose 4.8% organically in the three months through September, lifting revenue to 8.09 billion euros ($9 billion), or 4.6% higher than a year earlier. That beat expectations; analysts had expected organic volume growth of 2.9% and revenue growth of 3.5%, according to a poll of estimates compiled by the company.
Volumes of higher-end labels rose 11.5%, well ahead of total growth, while low- and no-alcohol volumes also grew in the double digits, Heineken said.
Despite the zippy performance of the premium segment, overall underlying price-mix slowed a little to 1.8%, compared with the 2.8% booked in the year's first half.
"Positive pricing and brand mix were offset by negative country mix, particularly from the strong growth in Asia Pacific," Heineken said. Volumes rose 16% in Asia Pacific, underscoring the region's appetizing growth prospects for the sector.
New Chief Executive Officer Rafael Oliveira said the results gave the group confidence to confirm its full-year guidance of 2%-6% organic growth in operating profit.
