Reckitt Cuts Outlook After Lysol Issues Stunt North America Sales
By Aimee Look
Reckitt Benckiser cut its outlook for the year, as sales slumped in North America due to a disruption in Lysol manufacturing.
The British consumer-goods giant, which makes Lysol cleaning spray and Mucinex cough medicine, said Tuesday that it anticipates 3.5% to 4.5% like-for-like growth for its core business in 2026.
It cut expectations from previous guidance of 4% to 5% like-for-like net revenue growth for its core business in 2026, which it gave during its half-year results at the end of July. Its core business excludes Mead Johnson Nutrition and the disposal of its Essential home business.
For the core business, Reckitt booked like-for-like revenue growth of 3.3% and revenue of 2.69 billion pounds ($3.59 billion) in the third quarter.
The company said it amended guidance partially due to the Lysol disruption, which it attributed to temporary manufacturing capacity constraints. Like-for-like net revenue in the North America region fell 1.3% in the quarter, and the company said it anticipates a rebound from Lysol and North America in the fourth quarter as it resolves the issues.
