Graphite One Wins Award to Test Alaskan Deposit for High-Temperature Defense Applications
By Adriano Marchese
Graphite One was awarded a contract to evaluate advanced carbon materials for high-temperature defense thermal management systems from the Defense Logistics Agency.
The company said that the demonstration project will evaluate advanced carbon-based composite materials derived from its domestic Graphite Creek deposit in Alaska to support the industrial base. It will also develop resilient domestic supply chains for high-temperature systems.
The Defense Logistics Agency is the Department of Defense's combat logistics support agency, managing the global supply chain from raw materials to end-user support for the military services and partner agencies.
The research and demonstration program marks Graphite One's third defense logistics award since 2023.
The company will partner with Idaho National Laboratory, a Department of Energy national laboratory researching and developing energy, national security and advanced materials science.
