Tempus AI Expands Bristol Myers Partnership With Multi-Year Oncology, AI Data Deals
By Adriano Marchese
Tempus AI signed a multi-year deal with Bristol Myers Squibb to license oncological data and provide access to its artificial intelligence-powered platform.
Under the terms of the deal, Bristol Myers will gain access to Tempus's Lens Platform, the company's agentic AI platform for oncology drug development, which is built on real-world multimodal datasets.
The agreement will run through 2031 to support biological and clinical insight, novel drug target discovery and therapeutic development across the pharmaceutical company's oncology portfolio.
Additionally, clinical-stage technology firm Pathos AI is also broadening its strategic collaborations with both Bristol Myers and Tempus AI. The collaboration aims to build a specialized, curated dataset and agentic AI capabilities for Alzheimer's disease and other neurological conditions.
Bristol Myers led a $237 million Series E financing round for Pathos at a $3 billion valuation, gaining rights to Pathos' Foundry AI platform and broader portfolio.
According to a regulatory filing on Friday, the combined agreements provide Tempus with $192.5 million in total cash commitments over five years, consisting of $137.5 million directly from Bristol Myers, and $55 million from Pathos AI for 500,000 de-identified patient records.
