London Stock Exchange Group Agrees to Buy Octus From Permira For $3.5 Billion

By Dominic Chopping

London Stock Exchange Group said it has agreed to acquire credit intelligence, data and workflow provider Octus from Permira and management for $3.54 billion.

The stock-exchange and financial-information company said last week that it was in talks over the deal.

"The acquisition will transform LSEG's presence in credit and private markets data, creating a leading proposition in these high-growth areas," it said Thursday.

Separately, the company said it has raised its full-year revenue, margin and free cash flow guidance "following the continued strength of our business in Q3."

The company now expects to report organic constant currency growth in total income excluding recoveries of at least 8.0%, from 7.0% to 7.5% previously, noting an acceleration of organic growth in its subscription businesses and continued strong growth in its markets division.

The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization margin this year is now expected to grow by 100 to 120 basis points at constant currency, having previously expected an improvement of around 100 basis points.

Equity free cash flow of at least 2.8 billion pounds ($3.75 billion) is expected this year, up from previous guidance of 2.7 billion pounds.
