Texas Instruments Posts Higher 3Q Profit, Revenue

  Texas Instruments logged higher profit and revenue in its latest quarter on broad based growth led by industry, automotive and data center. 



  The Dallas-based semiconductor company on Wednesday posted a profit of $2.43 billion, or $2.62 a share, compared with a profit of $1.36 billion, or $1.48 share, a year earlier. Analysts expected $2.44 a share, according to FactSet. 



  Revenue rose 28% over the year to $6.06 billion, topping the $5.94 billion forecast by analysts. 



  The company's analog unit grew revenue by 32%, to $4.91 billion. Its embedded processing segment revenue rose 21% to $848 million. 



  Texas Instruments expect fourth-quarter revenue between $5.8 billion to $6.3 billion and earnings per share of $2.45 to $2.79. Analysts expect revenue of $5.76 billion and earnings of $2.31 a share.
