Revolut Hit by Widespread Outage Affecting Payments, Transfers, Withdrawals

By Michael Hennessey

Revolut said an outage on Tuesday is affecting "multiple services", as thousands of customers report issues.

Users of the British fintech company reported difficulties making payments and accessing funds. Over 1,500 users flagged issues with the app on platform outage monitor Downdetector.

Unavailable services include card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, currency exchange, and stock trading, according to Revolut's website.

"We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services. We can confirm that all our customers' money and data are safe," a Revolut Bank spokesperson said.

"We've been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused."

Alphabet's Google Cloud has also reported issues in Europe on Tuesday, with multiple services experiencing errors and "intermittent network failures," according to the company's website.

"Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue," Google Cloud's service health website said. "We apologize to all who are affected by the disruption."

Google didn't immediately respond to a request for additional comment.

Last year, Revolut expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to use Google's technology to "enhance every aspect of its business".

Revolut has more than 80 million customers globally, and has set a target to increase its customer base to 100 million by mid-2027.
