Eli Lilly's Omvoh Hits Goal in Phase 3 Study in Children With Ulcerative Colitis

By Colin Kellaher

Eli Lilly said a late-stage study of Omvoh met its main goal in children with ulcerative colitis, one of the most common types of inflammatory bowel disease.

Eli Lilly on Monday said 81% of patients achieved clinical response to Omvoh induction at week 12 in the Phase 3 study in children ages 6 to 17 with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis, including clinical, symptomatic and endoscopic outcomes.

The Indianapolis drugmaker said that among responders, 50% achieved clinical remission at 52 weeks, meeting the study's primary endpoint.

Eli Lilly said it plans to submit the study data to global regulators to support a potential label expansion for Omvoh, which is currently approved for adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.
