Ferrovial Selected for $8.9 Billion Georgia Highway Project
By Elias Schisgall
Ferrovial was selected to lead a highway project in Greater Atlanta, with an expected construction value of $8.9 billion.
The infrastructure company will lead a consortium called Top End Mobility Group that will deliver the first, roughly 21-mile phase of the I-285 East Express Lanes project in Georgia. The project is a public-priavte partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the State Road and Tollway Authority.
Top End Mobility Group also signed a separate agreement to work exclusively with GDOT to advance the delivery of the project's remaining phases. The complete project will provide around 37.5 miles of new express lanes in each direction, Ferrovial said.
The consortium also includes Tikehau Star Infra, Ferrovial said.
"The I-285 East Express Lanes marks our first managed lanes project in Georgia, and an important milestone for Ferrovial in a state where we have been present for over a decade," Ferrovial Chief Executive Ignacio Madridejos said.
