Antofagasta Copper Production Rises
By Aimee Look
Chilean miner Antofagasta said copper output rose on quarter, and confirmed its production guidance for the full year.
The company produced 151,900 metric tons of copper in the third quarter, a 7% increase from the previous quarter, driven by higher output at its Los Pelambres mine in Chile's Coquimbo region, it said Thursday.
For the full year, the London-listed miner said it continues to expect copper production in the range of 625,000 to 655,000 tons compared with the 653,700 tons reported for 2025.
Citing higher global diesel prices, the company raised its full-year guidance for cash costs before byproduct credits to a range of $2.60 to $2.70 a pound from its previous expectation of $2.40 to $2.60 a pound.
Antofagasta also gave copper production guidance for 2027, expecting a range of 630,000 to 690,000 tons.
