Galderma to Buy ZO Skin Health for $1.5 Billion

By Aimee Look

Dermatology company Galderma agreed to buy ZO Skin Health from Blackstone and the Obagi family for $1.5 billion, including debt, in a move to grow its premium portfolio.

The Swiss company said Wednesday that it agreed to fully acquire ZO Skin Health from its shareholders, which include the Obagi family and funds managed by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities.

The transaction is expected to close in the current quarter or early 2027 and is subject to regulatory approvals, it said.

Galderma, which currently owns brands Alastin and Cetaphil, said the acquisition of California-based ZO Skin Health would help it serve healthcare professionals and patients.

ZO Skin Health, which has more than 40 products, would complement Galderma's Alastin brand in particular, the Swiss company said.
