Lonza Sees Maturing Projects Driving Profitability Higher Over Medium Term

By Adria Calatayud

Lonza Group said it expects maturing growth projects and cost discipline to boost profitability over the medium term, as the group reiterated its full-year outlook.

The Swiss company on Wednesday laid out its midterm growth targets that reflect its transformation into a group purely focused on the contract drug-manufacturing business following the planned sale of its capsules-and-health-ingredients unit to Lone Star Funds.

Lonza said it aims to accelerate the expansion of its core margin for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to reach a figure in the high thirties percentage range in the medium term, while targeting organic sales growth excluding currency movements in the low-teens range--between 10% and 13%--on average over time.

The company said this marked an upgrade to its midterm ambitions, which previously included organic sales growth at constant currency in the low-teens range on average and profitability expanding faster than sales.

For 2026, Lonza reiterated its outlook of sales growth of between 11% and 12% at constant currency, and a core Ebitda margin of between 33% and 34%.

The group's third-quarter performance was in line with its expectations across all business platforms, it said.
