Qualcomm Awarded $2 in Damages in Arm Tech License Lawsuit
By Elias Schisgall
Arm Holdings said a jury ruled in favor of the company on four claims in a technology license lawsuit with Qualcomm, while awarding Qualcomm $2 in damages for two other claims.
Arm on Tuesday said the verdict "confirms that Arm operated in good faith under its technology license agreement and its award of only two dollars confirms the merit of Arm's arguments in the case."
Qualcomm framed the outcome differently in a Tuesday statement, saying the jury found that Arm violated an agreement with Qualcomm and worked to harm the company's business.
"We are gratified that the jury found Arm breached its long-standing Architectural License Agreement (ALA) with Qualcomm, failed to honor its commitments, and intentionally acted to disrupt Qualcomm's businesses," Qualcomm said. "Together with Qualcomm's prior court victory, this outcome further exposes Arm's broader intentions to harm Qualcomm and its ecosystem."
Arm didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on Qualcomm's statement.
