LSEG in Talks to Buy Octus From Permira for $3.5 Billion

By Ian Walker

London Stock Exchange Group said it is in talks to buy credit intelligence, data and workflow provider Octus from Permira for $3.5 billion.

The City-bourse owner said Tuesday that no final agreement has been reached and a deal isn't guaranteed.

Octus' proprietary data covers the full credit lifecycle, with a position in illiquid and private credit, LSEG said.

It added that Octus has a record of double-digit revenue growth based on a high-retention subscription model.

Any deal would immediately boost LSEG's Data & Analytics and group revenue growth, it said.
