Tata Consultancy Services Reports Higher Quarterly Net Profit

Tata Consultancy Services reported a rise in second-quarter net profit, thanks to stronger revenue.

The Indian information technology services provider said Thursday that net profit rose 15% from a year earlier to 138.84 billion rupees, equivalent to $1.43 billion, for the three months ended Sept. 30. That beat the estimate of 137.28 billion rupees in a poll of analysts by data provider LSEG.

Second-quarter revenue increased 11% from a year earlier to 731.88 billion rupees.

Profit from its banking, financial services and insurance segment rose to 73.51 billion rupees from 68.18 billion rupees.

The company also declared a dividend of 12 rupees per share.
