NESR, Aramco Sign Agreement for Lithium Project in Saudi Arabia

By Kelly Cloonan

National Energy Services Reunited have signed a five-year contract valued at up to about $200 million to work on Aramco's lithium project in Saudi Arabia.

The oilfield services provider said Thursday the agreement will make use of its pre-treatment, direct lithium extraction and carbonation technology portfolio alongside Aramco's subsurface expertise.

The project aims to produce 2,000 tons per annum of battery-grade lithium carbonate. Commissioning and start of production are planned for late 2027.
