Prosus' Just Eat Takeaway.com Returns to Orders Growth
By Adam Whittaker
Prosus said orders at Just Eat Takeaway.com grew for the first time in more than four years as its transformation of the food delivery service begins to bear fruit.
The Amsterdam-listed company said Thursday that Just Eat Takeaway.com's orders grew 0.1% year-on-year in September. This compares with a 9% decline when it took control of the company in December, it said.
The sales growth halts 55 months of falling year-on-year orders, it said. Improved technology, logistics, and consumer experience helped turn the company to growth, with further gains expected, it said.
The company also said that iFood has kept around 80% of the app market share in Brazil while OLX's profitability is improving. Despegar is growing more than 20% and PayU is profitable and scaling, it said.
