General Dynamics Names President Danny Deep as Next CEO

  General Dynamics said its board has named President Danny Deep as chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1. 



  He will succeed Phebe Novakovic, who has served as CEO since 2013. She will transition to executive chairman. 



  Deep, who was named president in December of last year, has also served as executive vice president, Global Operations; executive vice president, Combat Systems; and president, Land Systems, among other positions. 



  Novakovic served as chairman and CEO since January 2013, and has been a director since 2012, the company said. She previously held positions including president and chief operating officer and executive vice president, Marine Systems. Novakovic is also on the board of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. 



  General Dynamics is a global aerospace and defense company.
