By Colin Kellaher

Stryker has designated its president and chief operating officer, Spencer Stiles, to succeed Kevin Lobo at the helm of the medical-technologies company.

Stryker on Tuesday said Stiles will become chief executive of the Portage, Mich., company on Jan. 1, while Lobo, who has been CEO since 2012 and board chair since 2014, will become executive board chair.

Stiles, 50 years old, is a 27-year Stryker veteran who became president and chief operating officer at the start of 2026 after serving as group president of orthopaedics and spine since 2019.

Stryker said Stiles will also join the board, expanding the size of the board to 11 members.
