PepsiCo Recalls 122,021 Cases of Gatorade Due to Undeclared Dye

By Josh Beckerman

PepsiCo recalled 122,021 cases of Gatorade due to undeclared Yellow No. 6 and/or Yellow No. 5 dye.

The recalled products include certain Lemon Lime, Lemon Lime Zero, Orange and Orange Zero drinks.

According to a notice on a Food and Drug Administration website, the voluntary recall was initiated Sept. 25.

PepsiCo is one of the prominent food companies working to remove certain dyes from its products. An FDA list of industry pledges said plans for Gatorade include removal of certain colors from fruit punch, lemon lime and orange Gatorade Thirst Quencher and Gatorade Zero products in fall 2026.
