Adnoc Inks Deal to Supply Around 2 Million Tons of LNG to Thai Business Group
By Joshua Kirby
Adnoc will deliver some 2 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas to Thailand's Gulf Development under a new contract.
The Abu Dhabi oil-and-gas company said Monday that it reached a multiyear LNG sales agreement with the Thai energy & infrastructure conglomerate. Deliveries will begin next year.
The deal builds on an existing partnership, begun last year, between Adnoc and Gulf Development. The move "marks another milestone in ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform, enhancing the scale, flexibility and optionality of our LNG solutions to meet growing global demand," said Nasser Al Muhairi, acting chief executive of Adnoc's downstream industry, marketing & trading business.
The deal follows the establishment this summer of Adnoc's global LNG marketing and trading platform, bringing together the group's marketing activity for the key commodity into a single commercial unit in a bid to boost its offer.
