Experian to Integrate with Google Gemini for Credit Advising

By Katherine Hamilton

Experian is integrating with Google Gemini to offer a personal finance app through the AI model.

U.S. customers will be able to connect with Experian via Gemini to ask questions about their credit. Existing Experian members can connect their accounts, while new customers can join Experian at no cost.

Users also can access their FICO credit rating and learn about the key factors influencing it.

The credit reporting company said it signed the deal because more consumers are using AI assistants to navigate financial decisions. The collaboration also creates a new point for consumers to discover Experian, it said.

Users can access Experian within Gemini by using the Personal Intelligence menu in Gemini and selecting Experian within the Connected Apps section.

Experian also has this year integrated with ChatGPT, where it offers services to help people explore options for personal loans and credit cards, based on their individual financial history.

More financial companies have been integrating into AI chatbots with the goal of creating new ways for customers to engage with the platforms. Intuit signed a $100 million deal with OpenAI earlier this year to offer personalized financial advice via AI models, while Plaid, Stripe and Klarna have all signed deals to partner with ChatGPT.
