Syntec Optics Shares Climb Premarket With Order for Space Force and Reconnaissance
By Robb M. Stewart
Syntec Optics's shares rallied after the technology company secured an order to enable vital U.S. Space Force infrastructure and advanced reconnaissance operations.
In premarket trading, the shares were 13% higher at $7.65. The jump eats into a 44% drop over the last three months for the stock through Friday's close.
Syntec said the contract marks a milestone and represents the most critical order in its 25-year history. The value of the deal wasn't disclosed.
The Rochester, NY, based company will build optics for government satellite constellations that it said are intended to protect the U.S.
The company said it will contribute to gathering information that can be beamed safely and very fast from space to military bases on Earth, without the need for ground stations which could break down.
