Qatar Investment Authority, JPMorgan Announce $20 Billion Partnership — 2nd Update

By Connor Hart

The Qatar Investment Authority is teaming up with JPMorgan Chase, planning to invest $20 billion across both public and private markets.

The strategic partnership will see $15 billion invested across public equities, with JPMorgan Asset Management overseeing a customized portfolio aligned with Qatar Investment Authority's long-term investment objectives, the organizations said Monday.

The two will additionally invest $5 million across private markets, providing financing to middle-market companies in the U.S., primarily across the industrials, services, healthcare and technology sectors.

The partnership will bring together Qatar Investment Authority's institutional perspective and JPMorgan's investment capabilities, positioning both organizations to capitalize on global investment opportunities and deliver long-term value, they said.

The deal underscores the Qatar Investment Authority's deepening ties with Wall Street. The fund, established in 2005, has historically invested in real estate, with stakes in New York City's Empire State Building, as well as The Shard, the Canary Wharf district and high-end department store Harrods in London.

More recently, though, Qatar Investment Authority has shifted into "new economy sectors," having made a major investment in Anthropic and signed a $25 billion tech partnership with Goldman Sachs.
