Metlen Signs Greek LNS Supply Deal with Petronas

By Anthony O. Goriainoff

Metlen Energy & Metals said it entered an energy supply pact with Malaysia's Petronas.

The London-listed industrial and energy company on Monday said it entered into a long-term agreement for the import and supply of liquefied natural gas to Greece.

Under the agreement, Petronas's U.K. subsidiary, Petco Trading, will deliver six LNG cargoes annually, amounting to around 0.6 billion cubic meters a year over five years from 2027.

Metlen said the partnership opened up an alternative, stable long-term source of natural gas. It will also enhance supply security and meet internal energy needs as well as broader European gas demand amid the continuing regional energy uncertainty.
