By Anthony Harrup
U.S. inspections of soybeans and wheat for export rose last week from the week before, while corn inspections slipped, according to the latest report Monday from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Soybean inspections totaled 672,759 metric tons for the week ended Sept. 10, up from 464,732 tons the previous week but below the 822,666 tons inspected in the year-earlier week, the USDA said.
Wheat inspections increased to 456,720 tons from 431,280 tons the previous week, but were below the 758,391 tons reported for the year-earlier week.
Corn inspections fell to 1.53 million tons from 1.67 million tons the week before and were little changed from the year-earlier week.
Japan and Mexico were last week's top buyers of wheat. Mexico was the leading destination for corn and China the main buyer of soybeans.
