Canadian Pacific Kansas City Sets New August Record for Grain Shipments

By Adriano Marchese

Canadian Pacific Kansas City has kicked off the new crop year with record shipments in August.

The Canadian railroad on Thursday said that it has shipped 2.54 million metric tons of grain and grain products in August, representing 26,051 carloads in the month.

The company said this marks a strong start to the new 2026-2027 crop year, which runs between August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

The momentum is carrying on from the previous crop year, which had set a new annual record for transporting Canadian grain and grain products.

It moved 30.66 million metric tons, which exceeded the previous record set in the 2020-2021 crop year.
