Stryker to Acquire ZuriMED
By Kelly Cloonan
Stryker agreed to acquire ZuriMED, a move aimed at bolstering its shoulder surgery portfolio.
The medical technology company said Monday the deal strengthens its capabilities in rotator cuff augmentation, which it said is one of the fastest-growing areas in sports medicine. Privately-held ZuriMED develops the FiberLocker System, a soft tissue augmentation technology.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, and the companies plan to continue to operate as separate entities until the transaction closes.
