Rheinmetall to Deliver Modular Camp for German Forces in Lithuania
By Mauro Orru
Rheinmetall said Germany had placed an order for a modular camp to house soldiers stationed in Lithuania.
The German arms maker said the order value for the construction of the facility amounted to 250 million euros ($291.6 million), with operations valued at 40 million euros annually. The modular camp, expected to house up to 2,000 soldiers, is due to become operational from mid-August 2027.
Rheinmetall said it booked the order in the third quarter as part of an initial call-off from Germany under a wider program to provide accommodation for soldiers.
