Firefly Aerospace Wins NASA Contract for Spacecraft Processing Services

Firefly Aerospace said it was awarded a contract by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to provide spacecraft processing facilities and services for missions launching from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
Under the contract, Firefly will be eligible to compete for task orders covering payload processing, fueling, integration and encapsulation ahead of NASA launches.
Firefly said its commercially available Payload Processing Facility is located less than half a mile from the company's Space Launch Complex 2 at Vandenberg. The facility can support storage, fueling and checkouts of small and medium-size payloads and spacecraft.
The Cedar Park, Texas-based company said the facility includes a storage area, control room, workspace, airlock and ISO 8 cleanroom.
The award adds to Firefly's existing launch agreements with NASA, including missions for the Quicksounder and INCUS satellites that are scheduled to launch on the company's Alpha rocket.
