Galaxy Entertainment's 1st Half Net Rose on Strong Macau Tourism
By Amanda Lee
Galaxy Entertainment's net profit rose in the first half of the year, supported by robust tourist arrivals in Macau, healthy hotel occupancy and sustained demand across both its gaming and non-gaming offerings.
Net profit for the six months ended June increased 0.8% compared with the same period a year ago to 5.28 billion Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to US$672.9 million, the casino operator said Wednesday.
Revenue rose 4.2% on year to HK$24.23 billion.
For the first half of 2026, total visitor arrivals to Macau climbed 9% on year to 20.9 million, said Francis Lui, chairman of Galaxy Entertainment.
Earnings were also supported by healthy hotel occupancy and sustained demand across both gaming and non-gaming offerings, Lui added.
The company's balance sheet remains healthy and liquid, with cash and liquid investments of HK$37.7 billion, Lui said.
"This financial strength allows us to fund our development pipeline, explore overseas opportunities and return capital to shareholders through dividends," Lui added.
The company announced an interim dividend of HK$0.90 per share.
Looking ahead, Galaxy Entertainment said it remains optimistic about its own outlook and the broader Macau market's.
Macau's medium-to-long term prospects continue to be driven by factors including resilient tourism and an expanding range of attractions, despite geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty, the company said.
