AC Immune Shares Rise on FDA's Fast-Track for Parkinson's Disease Drug

By Dean Seal

Shares of AC Immune climbed after the company got regulators' fast-track designation for its Parkinson's Disease treatment.

The stock were recently up 12% at $2.55. Shares are still down 19% year-to-date.

The Swiss biopharmaceutical company said before the opening bell Tuesday that the Food and Drug Administration has granted its fast-track designation to ACI-7104, AC Immune's treatment of early-stage Parkinson's disease.

The FDA's fast-track designation facilitates development and expedites the review of drugs that treat serious or life-threatening conditions and have the potential to fill unmet medical needs.

The regulator has also cleared ACI-7104's Investigational New Drug application, AC Immune said.
