Intel Revenue Chief Ernst to Step Down as Jarnac Named Chief Sales Officer
By Elias Schisgall
Intel Chief Revenue Officer Greg Ernst is leaving the company after a 27-year career there.
Ernst's departure comes about a year after he had been promoted to the chief revenue officer role. Before that, he led the chip maker's sales-and-marketing group. Intel didn't provide a reason for his exit.
Intel also said Friday that Dean Jarnac was named chief sales officer, effective in September. He will oversee the company's global sales organization and report to Chief Executive Officer Lip-Bu Tan.
Jarnac most recently served as chief sales officer for the semiconductor company Marvell Technology, and has held sales leadership roles at Broadcom and AMD.
The leadership shakeup comes shortly after Intel reported 25% sales growth in the second quarter and guided for growth well above Wall Street's expectations. The company has benefited from growing demand for CPUs to power artificial-intelligence data-centers.
Intel's stock is up 174% since the start of the year.
