Bharti Airtel Quarterly Net Profit Rises

Bharti Airtel reported a rise in first-quarter net profit on higher revenue.
The Indian telecom company said Tuesday that net profit rose 37% from a year earlier to 81.67 billion rupees, equivalent to $856.7 million, for the three months ended June.
That missed the estimate of 85.32 billion rupees in a poll of analysts by Visible Alpha.
First-quarter revenue climbed 18% to 585.39 billion rupees.
Profit from its India mobile services business rose 18% to 99.56 billion rupees.
