Linde to Invest $1 Billion to Support Major U.S. Semiconductor Facility Expansion
By Ian Walker
Linde PLC said it has been awarded an agreement to supply industrial gases to a semiconductor manufacturer, and will invest $1 billion to expand its facility in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Nasdaq-listed industrial gases and engineering company said Friday the agreement is with one of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers, without naming it.
"As global demand for advanced semiconductors continues to increase, this investment demonstrates Linde's ability to deliver the purity, reliability and scale our customers require," Armando Botello, President Linde Gases, U.S., said.
