Adidas Lifts Sales Target, Names New Finance Chief
By Andrea Figueras
Adidas upgraded its sales view for the year as a whole after a strong performance during the first half, and appointed a new finance chief.
The German sportswear group said Thursday that it now anticipates an increase in constant-currency revenue between 9% and 10%. This compares with a previous forecast of a high-single-digit percentage rise.
Operating profit is still expected to reach around 2.3 billion euros, or $2.64 billion, compared to the 2.06 billion euros it reported for 2025.
For the second quarter, the company reported net sales of 6.74 billion euros. Excluding currency movements, sales surged 14%, above a 13% increase that analysts had expected, according to a poll of estimates provided by the company.
Operating profit grew to 574 million euros from 546 million euros a year earlier, below analysts' estimates of 623 million euros, according to the same consensus.
In a separate statement, Adidas said that Birgit Kretschmer will succeed Harm Ohlmeyer as chief financial officer at the end of the year. The move comes after the longtime executive decided not to extend his mandate beyond his current term.
Ohlmeyer has worked at Adidas for almost three decades and served as finance boss since May 2017.
