By Elias Schisgall
Keros Therapeutics said it will receive a $20 million development milestone payment under its global license agreement with Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
The milestone was hit when the first patient was dosed in a Phase 3 trial for elritercept, an treatment for anemia due to very low, low, or intermediate risk myelodysplastic syndromes.
Keros said it expects to distribute 25% of the net proceeds from the payment to stockholders.
The company already received a $200 million upfront payment at the start of the global license agreement in February 2025. It is eligible for milestone payments potentially totalling more than $1.1 billion, it said, as well as tiered royalties on net sales.
