By Aimee Look
The U.K.'s competition watchdog said it is gathering information on the anticipated deal between McCormick and Unilever's food business.
The Competition and Markets Authority said Tuesday it opened up an invitation to comment for interested parties to give initial views on how the deal would impact competition in the U.K. It has not launched a formal investigation into the transaction, it said.
Invitation to comment closes on August 5, it said.
