Materials Shares Little Changed — Materials Roundup

Stocks in the materials sector were slightly higher as gold and silver prices declined amid signs that U.S. inflation might be cooling down.

U.S. tariffs get fresh momentum as President Trump slaps 25% levy on Brazilian imports. The move could be supportive for the U.S. ethanol industry, said the Renewable Fuels Association in a press release.

BHP Group said it produced a record amount of iron ore but less copper over the past year, and forecast a further drop in copper output in the year ahead as grades fall at a giant mine in northern Chile.
