AWS Insider Dave Brown Leaving Amazon After 19 Years

Dave Brown, an Amazon executive who helps oversee Amazon Web Services and advise the company's chief executive, is stepping down after a 19-year tenure at the company.
Brown, who serves as senior vice president of AWS Compute & Machine Learning Services, will leave at the end of July for a new position, the company said Wednesday. Brown also serves as a member of the S-team, an inner circle of Amazon executives who advise Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.
He will be succeeded by Dave Treadwell, currently senior vice president of eCommerce Foundation, effective Aug. 1.
"The AWS business and team has never been in a stronger position, and I have never been more optimistic about the incredible opportunity we have ahead of us," AWS CEO Matt Garman said in a note shared with Amazon employees.
