Chevron Signs New Western Australia Gas Deal With Alinta Energy

By Rhiannon Hoyle

Chevron has signed a long-term deal with power retailer Alinta Energy for natural gas from its Western Australian operations.

Under the agreement, Chevron will supply 46 petajoules of gas to Alinta over a five-year period from July 2027, the U.S. oil giant said Friday. The gas will be supplied from Chevron's Western Australian gas assets, which include the Gorgon and Wheatstone facilities, it said.

The deal with Alinta, one of Western Australia state's largest gas retailers, "continues a long-standing partnership between the two companies which dates back more than four decades," Chevron said. Alinta is owned by Singapore's Sembcorp Industries.
