Palisade Bio shares rose Monday after the company said the Food and Drug Administration cleared its investigational new drug application for PALI-2108, allowing it to begin a Phase 2 trial in patients with ulcerative colitis.

Shares of the biopharmaceutical company were recently up about 12% at $2.12.

The company said it plans to begin enrolling patients in the global Phase 2 ASCENTRA-UC study in the second half of 2026, with primary results expected in the second half of 2027.

The trial is expected to enroll up to 204 patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis across North America and Europe. It will evaluate two dose levels of PALI-2108 against a placebo.

Palisade also said it expects to submit an investigational new drug application in the second half of 2026 for a Phase 2 study of PALI-2108 in Crohn's disease.
