Rheinmetall Gets Multimillion-Dollar Armored-Vehicle Order From German Military

By Joshua Kirby

Rheinmetall said it received an order valued at hundreds of millions of dollars from the German army to replenish its stock of armored vehicles amid rising demand for military hardware in Europe.

The order is for 23 Bergepanzer 3 Bueffel armored-recovery vehicles, replacing vehicles gifted to the Ukrainian military, the German arms maker said Tuesday. The value of the order is within a range of the mid-hundreds of millions of euros.

The first vehicle in the order will be delivered at the end of next year, the last in summer 2029, Rheinmetall said.

"The replacement order highlights the ongoing importance of the Bergepanzer 3 as a key support system for mechanized forces," the company said.
