Boeing Gets Air Force Satellite Pact for Up to $2 Billion

Boeing received a contract worth up to $2 billion from the U.S. Air Force.

The fixed-price-incentive-firm-target contract covers the design, development, construction and testing of two Mobile User Objective System satellites.

Boeing won the contract after beating a competing offer, the Defense Department said. The company will receive $204 million initially for research, development and testing during the current fiscal year.

Work for the contract will be carried out in El Segundo, Calif., and is expected to wrap up by Sept. 30, 2035.
