Trilogy Metals, U.S. Government Extend Closing Date for Strategic Investment
By Adriano Marchese
Trilogy Metals and the U.S. government have extended the closing date by two months for a planned $35.6-million strategic equity investment from the Department of War to allow more time to finalize documentation.
The mineral exploration and development company, which is focused on advancing large copper-rich deposits in Alaska, said Monday that the additional time will allow it and the U.S. government to complete the definitive agreements for the planned investment.
Originally, the targeted closing date was May 31, and it was pushed back to July 31.
The investment is made under Title III of the Defense Production Act to support development of Trilogy's Arctic copper project in the Ambler Mining District.
It is part of the federal government's broader critical-minerals strategy and follows recent permitting progress on the Arctic Project, including its designation as FAST-41, "Covered Project," which places it on a defined federal permitting schedule.
