Claritev Shares Recover After Comments About DOJ

By Josh Beckerman

Claritev shares recovered Monday afternoon as the company discussed its cooperation with the Justice Department.

Shares closed at $27.58 last Wednesday, posting declines of 15% and 41% for the next two trading days as Capital Forum published an article called "DOJ Launches Criminal Antitrust Probe into Claritev."

The stock was below $15 during the morning on Monday, surging after Claritev said in a securities filing that it has been cooperating fully with the DOJ. It was recently up 19% to $16.52.

Claritev, a healthcare technology, data, and insights company, said that in August 2024 it received a confidential grand jury subpoena from the DOJ's Antitrust Division in connection with an investigation regarding health insurance. At no point in the subsequent two years has the DOJ informed the company that it is the target of an investigation, Claritev said.

"We remain focused on working with clients and partners across the entire healthcare ecosystem to make healthcare more transparent, accessible, and affordable for all consumers," Claritev said.

MultiPlan changed its name to Claritev in February 2025.
