Singapore's Private Home Sales Rose in April
By Megan Cheah
Private home sales in Singapore rose in April, with buyer sentiment holding up despite wider geopolitical uncertainty.
Developers sold 1,548 units last month, excluding executive condominiums, up around 19% from March, data from the Urban Redevelopment Authority showed Friday. Sales last month were sharply higher than the 675 units sold in April 2025.
"Despite underlying uncertainty stemming from geopolitical tensions, domestic demand for new private homes has held up," said Marcus Chu, chief executive of real-estate services company ERA Singapore, in an email. Singapore's strong economic fundamentals and tight labor market are likely to keep supporting sales, he added.
Fewer units available in May's launches means sales for the month are likely to fall to between 400 to 500 units, said Huttons Asia's Mark Yip.
ERA Singapore forecasts 9,000 to 10,000 new home sales by year-end, while Huttons Asia's sales projection remains at 8,000 to 10,000 units.
